Aid Christian and Maile in Their Healing Process

Hello, my name is Rosemary. My son, Christian, and his wife, Maile, were recently in a horrible head-on accident. Both of them were injured; Maile had cuts and bruises all over her and was understandably in shock and terrified because she and Chris weren't able to see each other afterwards (they were both taken to the hospital in separate ambulances). After Maile was examined and treated, she was released, but Chris wasn't. He was injured severely and had to have emergency back surgery. He had multiple fractures, and his pelvis was separated from his spine. The doctors told him that he should be able to walk again, but not for at least 3 months.

Maile is a strong woman, and we think that she handled things well, considering the situation. Even with all of the pain Chris is enduring, he is focusing on staying as positive as possible, but he has a long road of recovery and healing ahead of him. We know they were in God's embrace, which is why they're still with us (they were told that they were very lucky to be alive).

To us, Christian and Maile are a true love story. They have been together since the day they met, and they have always been there for each other. They worked hard to save money to purchase their first home together. Due to Chris' injuries, physical therapy, and other medical treatments, he is not able to work right now, which has caused an immediate loss of half of their income. They're concerned that they will not be able to make their mortgage payments for the next few months, in addition to the added and unexpected medical expenses they're already starting to incur.

While family and friends are helping, it is not enough to cover the rising costs, hence this GoFundMe account. If anyone is able to help and give them the strength to push forward through the upcoming challenges, it would be so much appreciated. They're both very special, strong people, and we know they will fully heal with a little help.
