Aid Collins' Recovery and Rescue Mission

Hello,

I'm Carol, a close friend of Collins. We met over two years ago on Instagram. We have a shared love for dogs. Collins is a young man turning 18 years old in March. He attends school, looks after his younger brother, and has an animal shelter. Sadly, he lost his mom suddenly just over two years ago. Rescuing dogs was their passion; his mom would help with the dogs while Collins was in school. In her honor, he has been faithful to his mission of rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome.

Collins lives in Uganda, and there are many street dogs. Dogs are not valued and are harmed by those that don't care about their lives or well-being. Many dogs Collins rescues are in need of surgeries, spay and neuter, Parvo treatment, and more. Most importantly, there is a need for dog food. With over 70 dogs and several cats, bags of dog food are very expensive, and he needs at least two bags per day to keep his dogs healthy. He is always asking for donations on his IG account, collins_community_outreach. This has been quite stressful as donations are not coming in as they have in the past. Every day he worries about his dogs, will they eat, will he get the donations necessary to ensure they remain healthy and fed. This takes a toll on Collins' well-being and mental health. He has been struggling with depression and has even attempted to take his life. This was devastating to me, his family, friends, and his followers. We all care deeply for and respect his love and the care he provides to man's best friend.

Collins spent 6 days in the hospital, and the doctor recommends Collins continues treatment with a psychiatrist. The medical plan is 2 weeks of intensive treatments, meeting twice per day. The psychiatrist will come from the capital city of Kampala and stay near Collins. He will learn how to cope with stresses, depression, anxiety, and if medication may be needed, and overall health restored to a more manageable degree. Praying with the help of the doctor, Collins will enjoy healthier and happier days to come.
