My name is Whitney Lowe and my son's name is Colson Lowe.
Colson just turned 4 on February 2nd.
Starting back in November, he was sick with a double ear infection and pneumonia and was on two antibiotics. After finishing his medicine, he was having extreme diarrhea. He was hospitalized for dehydration and released the next day even though the diarrhea never quit. I was told it was because of him being on so many antibiotics. After taking him to his doctor, where I was dismissed on the idea of my 3-year-old having C-diff, we were back in the ER and eventually sent to Riley in Carmel, Indiana, where they diagnosed him FINALLY with C-diff. Once we began treatment for C-diff, he had an allergic reaction to the antibiotics and had to change meds. We were able to go home after being admitted for 5 days only to be readmitted 2 days later for a septic joint in his right knee and had surgery at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis. I had to use all of my PTO during these emergencies.
Now he is back in Riley Children's Hospital fighting Covid, Rhino virus, and Kawasaki Disease. I am asking for help financially, which is a very hard thing for me to ask. My husband is taking care of our daughter while I'm in Indy taking care of our son. We would greatly appreciate any and all help.
We are a one-income family right now and with me missing so much work, things are getting financially difficult.
He is going to have multiple appointments and of course they all cannot be scheduled on the same days, so we will be making multiple trips to get him to all his appointments.
