Support David in His Battle with Brain Cancer

To those close to us,

We are humbly asking for your support as we navigate a new, scary time in our lives. Out of the blue, we got the shocking news that David W. had a large brain tumor and needed emergency surgery in June after a routine MRI for minor dizzy spells. Thankfully he is recovering well from surgery, however, we have a long road ahead of us.

We just learned after several agonizing weeks of waiting for the biopsy report that the tumor is malignant and that David has Grade 3 brain cancer so will need to begin chemo and radiation once his head heals more from the initial procedure. We will know what happens next based on how he responds as we remain hopeful but realistic. There are many unknowns at this time but this is a serious diagnosis. We are so grateful for all who have shared love, support and helped us over the last several weeks and we will need all of that to help us stay strong through the next phase of this fight.

Given all the uncertainty, sadly, it is likely that David will not be returning to his counseling practice so it has been shut down indefinitely. We've also decided that despite all the effort Davey has put toward his teaching certification, he will not start teaching this Fall to act as a caretaker for David through the recovery process. We are devastated to have our lives upended in this way as you could imagine and this puts us in a pretty bad financial situation.

This is a slightly embarrassing and very humbling ask...but we know that we are loved and cared for by those who know us and would like to ask, only if you can, to contribute a little towards our bills both medical and household.

We will provide updates as we are able, but please respect our privacy as we manage this life-shattering news and recovery process. Having this platform will also make giving updates easier for us as we are sure many of you will want to know how we are doing.
