Aid Dennis's Recovery and Rebuilding Efforts

Early in the morning on October 10th, hurricane Milton took our step brother Dennis‘s home in St James City on Pine Island. Dennis and his daughter, along with his sweet dog Bubba listened to the warnings and evacuated Pine Island before the hurricane came. While they were sheltered in place at a friends in Fort Myers their home caught fire and was 100% destroyed. The house caught fire when the winds were too strong for emergency personnel to be able to get there and try to save it. By the time they showed up, it was already gone. Prior to the hurricane Dennis was in the hospital as he’s fighting lung cancer and had to have a third of his lungs removed. Even though he was in pain he got out of the hospital just to get whatever he could from the home and evacuate. He is still going through treatment and fighting the complications he’s having with the surgery. He has a long recovery to go still with his cancer. And now he has to navigate the loss of his home and all of his personal belongings including his fishing boat which was his on of his biggest passions in life. Anyone who has been through a disaster like this knows that dealing with insurance companies is a long and painful process especially in Florida. And the stress of this while also fighting his cancer is unimaginable. Any donations will help so he and his dog buddy can get through this tragedy they are going through.
