Help me fix my car, before they tow my home.

Hello,

My name is David Leamsi Cruz, and I’m reaching out in a moment of great need. I recently became homeless, and my car has been my lifeline—my home, my transportation, and my means of earning a living through DoorDash. Unfortunately, my car broke down, and now I’m at risk of losing it entirely, leaving me with no shelter, no way to work, and no way to get by.

Before this, I already lost my previous car, which carried everything I owned, when it was towed. I used the last of my savings to purchase this current vehicle, only for it to break down shortly after. Now, I’m left with just three changes of clothes and the fear of losing the little I have left.

I am humbly asking for your help to raise $1,000 to repair my car so I can get back on my feet.

Here is how the funds will be used:

- **$140** to fix an issue with the gas valve. I already have the part, and this cost will cover the mechanic’s labor.

- **$500** to fix the starter and purchase a new battery since the current one has died after the car has been sitting unused for some time.

- **$300** for towing the car to the mechanic for repairs.

- The remaining funds will help cover basic expenses such as gas, food, and ensuring my car doesn’t get towed while I work to rebuild my life.

Fixing my car will allow me to:

- Resume working and earning income.

- Maintain access to food, gas, and essentials.

- Have a safe space to sleep at night.

- Continue going to the gym, where I shower and take care of basic hygiene.

I know times are tough for many, but any contribution—big or small—would mean the world to me. It would give me the chance to stabilize my life, keep hope alive, and work towards a brighter future.
