Aid for Bryant's Medical Debt and Recovery

Donation protected

Hello everyone.

We as a family are creating this GoFundMe for Bryant Sanchez, his wife Vanessa Ayala, and our two beautiful nieces, just 3 and 6 years old, who are facing the reality of not having their daddy home for Christmas.

We are asking for any help to support this sweet family during this devastating time.

Many of you may know Bryant developed a spinal infection at the end of 2022 that led doctors to discover, due to a rare condition, Bryant was going into liver failure (unrelated). The spinal infection was treated and healed. Bryant was quickly put at the top of the transplant list, monitored closely with numerous doctor visits and tests.

In May of 2023, our prayers were answered, and Bryant became the recipient of an angel's liver and recovered amazingly. It was an extreme financial burden, as you can imagine. However, Bryant and Vanessa handled it head-on, never asked for any help, and are still digging themselves out of medical debt. A small price to pay for a Daddy, Husband, Son, Brother, and friend to still be here ♡

Fast forward to December of 2024. Bryant started experiencing severe spine pain again, this time much more debilitating and painful. After collapsing and being rushed to the ER on Sunday, December 15th, doctors discovered Bryant's spinal infection had returned, this time much worse, and it had traveled to his neck. Bryant was rushed to The University of Utah hospital to receive emergency surgery in an attempt to remove the infection. They knew he wasn't out of the woods yet but remained hopeful. Bryant underwent his second surgery today, 12/20, in an attempt to remove more infection. The doctors also discovered the bacteria had moved into his bloodstream. Bryant is still currently in critical care, and we don't know when he will be released. The surgeons have a plan of action and are taking it day by day, remaining hopeful they will get the infection under control and hopefully no more surgeries.

To have no clear answers, his ICU stay quickly turning into a week, and medical debt accruing on top of medical debt from his transplant is a complete devastation to his little family.

Bryant and Vanessa both made career changes recently after realizing this past year how fragile and unpromised life is. Because of that, neither of them have medical leave and are already facing the reality of losing an income for an indefinite amount of time.

Vanessa is still working as much as she can, taking care of her baby girls, and being with Bryant at the hospital.

Once Bryant is released, Vanessa will remain the sole provider and caretaker until Bryant can return to work.

It takes a village, and these beautiful people deserve any support they can get.

Thank you for taking the time ♡
Sincerely, Vanessa and Bryant's Siblings.
