Aid for Burrell Family Displaced by Fire
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Community,
The ice storm that hit Richmond on February 11 has greatly impacted one of our families. Members of the Burrell family who live on Ashburn road were just waking up on a snow day when a downed tree overcharged the power line and caused a fire in the family’s laundry room. Fortunately, Tony, Amanda, Noah, Jeremiah and Isaiah were able to evacuate without injuries. This sweet family of 5 includes children with disabilities who are displaced for an indefinite amount of time. They are currently staying in a motel without a working kitchen.
Their current needs are great.
Fire and water damage will require new clothing, household items, and basic necessities for all 5 family members. Along with these tangible expenses, this will impact the parents' work schedule.
This family is an important part of our Bon Air community with ties to Bon Air Elementary, Reams Elementary, and Robious Middle. Their boys are well-loved by students and staff. School staff are rallying around this family with support, but we wanted to extend support into the community as many people who saw the news online have asked, “how can we help this family?” Resources raised can help them as they manage this traumatic time with their sweet boys.
