Aid for Carolan's Family After Fraud

Donation protected
Hi, my name is Kim McCollough-Wayman and I am starting this GoFundMe to help my daughter Carolan and my granddaughters. My daughter was recently scammed by someone posing as a realtor and she needs help to be able to move out by April 1st.

My daughter has to move from her current residence due to her current landlord needing the space my daughter rents for her elderly mother. My daughter had saved up the money and found an apartment through Prime Management in San Diego. She was supposed to move in on Saturday. She sent the first and security deposit ($3000 total) through Zelle to the person who listed the property on Feb 27th. She was given keys to the property and was set to move in on March 1st. When she went to the property, there were maintenance workers there painting, and while preparing to move her stuff into the property, the property manager arrived and told her he had not spoken with her and had no knowledge of the property being rented out and no knowledge of the deposit that she had paid. She tried to show him all of her paperwork for the lease and proof of deposit, and unfortunately, he did not care and told her that she could not move in and he was not going to help her at all with this issue. She then contacted the police, her bank, Zelle, and filed a complaint with the FBI (IC3). The police, her bank, and Zelle said there is nothing they can do to help recover her lost money, that this is an FBI issue because it was an internet scam. She works extremely hard and makes barely enough to make all her bills and support her daughters. This scam has set her back and she is in a position that she still has to move out of her present residence, with no possibility of extending the move-out date. She saved for 3 months just to have enough to move into a studio apartment, while she struggled to keep her bills paid and food on the table for her girls. But she did it, and now with this scam, she is in jeopardy of being homeless until she can save the money again. She works full-time and both of her daughters are in elementary school, so she can't leave the area and be able to continue working.

I know times are tough for everyone and I understand if you can't afford to help, but if you can find it in your hearts to donate anything, we would really appreciate the gift of an apartment for her and my granddaughters. If you can't financially help, please say prayers for her and her daughters. Thank you so much for your time and consideration!
