Help Family with special needs child after fire
Donation protected
Hi everyone, my name is Sarah, and I'm reaching out on behalf of my coworker and best friend, Chris, whose family tragically lost their home last month due to the Eaton fire that swept through their Altadena neighborhood.
Chris, his parents, and his 14-year-old brother lost everything – their belongings, keepsakes, and the home they've cherished for the last 10 years. While we are incredibly relieved that everyone is safe, the road to recovery is overwhelming, and they need support to rebuild.
A kind family friend is allowing them to stay in their apartment for the next few weeks. However, due to the special needs of Chris’s brother, the apartment’s size is a challenge. He requires a variety of equipment and sensory toys to help him navigate daily life, and the small space is making it difficult for him to adjust.
We’re raising funds to help Chris and his family secure a more suitable living space—ideally a single-family home in the Los Angeles area that can accommodate his brother's needs. Donations will also go toward replacing essential items such as clothing, toiletries, computers for work and school, and a car for transportation to work and doctor’s appointments. Chris is also a student, and all of his textbooks were lost in the fire. Contributions will help replace those so he can finish his semester. Additionally, Chris’s brother lost his AAC device, which allows him to communicate. This device is vital for his daily interactions, so funds will be used to replace that as well, along with his lost sensory toys.
No one should have to go through this alone. Your generosity will make a world of difference as they navigate this challenging time. Every donation, no matter the size, helps show them they are supported by their community. Donations will be sent directly to the family via Zelle. If you're unable to donate financially, please share this link to spread the word. Thank you for your kindness and support!
