Aid for Coach Kent Ottens family after unexpected passing
Donation protected
Dear Friends, Family, and Compassionate Strangers,
It is with profound sadness that we share the unexpected passing of Kent Ottens on September 4th, 2024. Kent, affectionately known as Coach, was a devoted father, partner, and friend. He was the sole provider for his family, leaving behind his partner Cybele and their children, including their special needs daughter Karyna who requires lifelong care.
Kent’s dedication was evident in his nearly 30 years as a PE teacher at Plantation Park Elementary, where he instilled a love of sports in his students, and his 20 years of service as an EMT, always going above and beyond to help others. His loss has created a significant void in the lives of those who knew and loved him.
In this time of grief, we are reaching out to ask for your support. The financial strain of losing Kent, the sole provider, is overwhelming. Cybele, who was a stay-at-home mother, now faces the daunting task of managing the household and providing for their children, including their special needs daughter Karyna and their college student daughter, Juliana.
Your generous donations will make a meaningful impact by helping with:
• Daily living expenses
• Continuity of care for their special needs daughter
• Educational and other needs for their daughters
Despite Kent’s efforts to plan for the future, his life insurance policy expired shortly before he was diagnosed with cancer. After undergoing chemotherapy and achieving remission for the past six months, Kent was hopeful for the future. However, on Labor Day, he sought medical help for leg pain, which led to an urgent hospital visit. Sadly, while he was making plans for his recovery, those plans were abruptly cut short.
No contribution is too small, and every bit of support is deeply appreciated. If you cannot donate, sharing this campaign with others who may be able to help is invaluable.
Thank you for your kindness and compassion during this heartbreaking time. Your support will help Cybele and their daughters, Juliana and Karyna, navigate the future without Kent until they can find their footing and adjust to life without their dad.
With Heartfelt Gratitude,
