Aid for Tornado Victims in Rolling Fork, MS
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Collette Manning, and I am raising money for the many families in Rolling Fork, MS, a town recently devastated by a violent EF-4 tornado. Ripping through several towns, this fatal tornado took 23 lives, with the death toll expected to rise as rescue workers comb through the debris. Rolling Fork was completely flattened, has no power, and has no water due to a downed water tower. I am asking for your help in the form of donations that will be used to buy water and food supplies that my family will deliver to Rolling Fork while on Spring Break the first week in April.
You blues fans out there probably know Rolling Fork as birthplace to Muddy Waters, the "father of modern Chicago blues". For me, Rolling Fork is much more personal. In the late 1800s my grandmother, along with her parents and three sisters, immigrated from Sicily to the United States through the Port of New Orleans, settling in Rolling Fork where they started a fruit farm stand.
I grew up in Jackson, an hour away from Rolling Fork, and have a lot of family scattered across Mississippi, a state that has been so loving to me and Jeanne and our two daughters. My family wants to give some of that love back to the people who find themselves homeless now in Rolling Fork. We plan to buy supplies (water, canned goods, etc..) and hand deliver while on Spring Break the first week in April.
100% of your donation will go towards relief for those left in need by this devastating tornado. Thank you for your help!
