Aid for Hutto family due to DP Pipeline Fire Explosion

Hello, my name is Michelle Martinez, and I am reaching out to the public in efforts to raise money to help my best friend and her family due to the most recent Deer Park pipeline fire explosion that occurred on September 16th, 2024.

Since the day of the explosion, her family and pets have been displaced. She was knocked out of her chair while working in her upstairs bedroom when the explosion hit. She ran out of her house with only the clothes on her back, with no shoes, and two dogs, afraid the whole block would blow up. When I was finally able to speak to her she told me her words exactly, "I thought we were being bombed." I later found out she ran out of her house without her phone. :( The saddest part of it all is hearing Steve (her husband) talk about the only care he had was retrieving pictures of his son Ian whom he lost back in 2002.

Their insurance company is working with them, but in the meantime, they are not able to return home as it is unlivable. They are trying to resume a normal lifestyle staying at a hotel and are having to come out of pocket on bare essentials. Please consider making a donation. This has been a nightmare as they have lost just about everything in their home and more than likely will never be able to return. My best friend is currently being treated by a physician to help with what we think may be PTSD. I thank you kindly for any amount you can contribute, and I also ask for prayers.
