Aid for Isaac's Lifesaving Transplant
Donation protected
Mark and Mindi have adopted five children at birth. Four of their children have special medical needs and complex care.
Their four-year-old son, Isaac, has Down syndrome, and he is in renal failure.
Mark and Mindi just found out today that Isaac is being put on the transplant list. He is currently in-patient at Children's Milwaukee, 90 miles from Mark and Mindi's home. They have had to put in an NG tube to help with his nutrition and hydration intake, to help with his kidney function. All of this has come as a shock to Mark and Mindi. They thought maybe down the road he might need a transplant, but now it's become more urgent.
Mark and Mindi live 90 miles from the hospital. Mark works the overnight shift and may have to take Family Medical Leave, which means he keeps his job but does not get paid. Because someone has to be with their one-year-old son 24/7 and they want someone to be with Isaac at the hospital, they are hoping to raise some funds to help them in this long journey. Unfortunately, with no family nearby and very few friends who can take care of the other children, this is really the best option for them.
A little about their other children:
Tess, 10 years old, has CHARGE syndrome, is deaf, has a feeding tube, and had a thymus transplant.
Adam, 8 years old, is neurotypical.
Quinn, 6 years old, has Down syndrome.
Levon, 1 year old, has Goldenhar Syndrome, is trach dependent, is deaf, and has a G-tube.
Any and all money raised will aid in the help of gas, food, and any other expenses incurred during the transplant journey.
