Aid for James Blalock's Medical Journey

Hello everyone,

My name is Courtney Blalock, and I’m the daughter of James Blalock. Over the past several months, our family has been navigating a difficult journey as Dad faced serious health challenges.

Recently, Dad underwent major surgery that will leave him unable to work or return to normal day-to-day mobility for months. While we are incredibly grateful that the initial fear of prostate cancer was ruled out, the road ahead remains long and challenging.

Doctors discovered a Colovesical Fistula—a tear between the lining of his colon and urinary tract. This is an incredibly painful and severe condition that could have been life-threatening if it hadn’t been diagnosed in time. After seven months of uncertainty and pain, we are relieved that surgery was successful, and the hardest part of this process is now behind us. His doctors have confirmed that his case was critical, but we are thankful the antibiotics kept him stable while awaiting this procedure.

As Dad begins his recovery, he will be out of work for the foreseeable future. Although insurance is covering part of his medical bills, it’s not enough to ease the financial burden of being out of work during this time.
