Aid for Kharkiv (The Zakupnik)
Donation protected
In March this year, I first visited a number of remote villages in the Kharkiv region of Ukraine to give to those people, who remain, essential items*. These were villages that were either occupied by the Russians last year or on the frontline. They continue to be shelled on a daily basis and most off road areas remain heavily mined. These villages still have no electricity, gas or running water. They have been forgotten by everyone but ‘Unbroken Kharkiv’, an NGO which is run entirely by local volunteers. These *items included: toilet paper, hand washing powder, soap, shampoo, shower gel, ‘over the counter’ medicines, including paracetamol and ibuprofen, dog and cat food (mainly for the large numbers of abandoned pets).
I will be travelling to Kharkiv every month for the foreseeable future to deliver similar products to as many villages as possible (in partnership with ‘Unbroken Kharkiv’).
To date I have purchased these items from my own pocket but I cannot afford to continue like this. In order to purchase these items - locally in Kharkiv - I need to raise a minimum of £2,000 for each monthly mission. This money will be used solely for the purpose of buying such items as those above - things that we all take for granted in our daily lives.
Please give only as much as you can afford. Even £1.00 will buy at least one of these items and will make a difference to someone’s life.
