Aid for Laina: Altadena Single Mother & Small Business Owner

Help support Laina Miller — single mother, artist, and small business owner of The Creative Café, hosted at Amara Kitchen in Altadena before it was destroyed in the Eaton Fire. Laina and her young daughter are presently displaced from their home and Laina’s source of income has vanished.

Tragically, this isn’t the first time Laina has faced the devastation of a fire. In 2018, she endured a heartbreaking loss when her childhood home and community in Paradise, CA, were destroyed in the Camp Fire. Now, Laina has lost TWO communities to fires, and it couldn't have happened to a more warm, gentle, and kind person.

My name is Jenny, a native Angeleno, and I first met Laina as a guest at The Creative Café, where I was moved by the healing and joyful space she created, inspiring me during a career crossroads. In fall 2024, I had the privilege of joining her team and seeing firsthand how she builds The Creative Café with incredible intention, empathy, and heart, much like one of her beautiful art pieces.

Funds will help support her and her 5-year-old-daughter and eventually help her restore her work, allowing her to continue offering her creative wellness services to help others heal from this tragedy.

Laina started The Creative Café as an inspiring and healing space for people to tap into their creativity while building community. She is dedicated to the belief that art is therapy, and I know that Altadena and the entire Los Angeles family will need her light, art, and work now more than ever to get through this impossible, devastating time.
