Aid for Miss Fanny's Vet & Heart Expenses
Donation protected
Hello! We are Marya E. Gates and Robert Daniels, freelance film critics living in Chicago. While we were away on a business trip on Saturday, March 8th our catsitter FaceTimed us because our cat Miss Fanny Brawne was acting strangely. We had her rush Fanny to the vet immediately, where it was discovered she had gone into heart failure. She was in really bad shape that day and was transferred from her main vet to an emergency vet where she was treated for heart failure, breathing issues, and kidney issues. She was visited by a cardiologist who confirmed her heart failure and prescribed treatment. Thankfully she responded well to her treatment and was able to come home in the evening on March 10th, with several medications for her heart.
She has been doing well on the medications for the last few weeks, as well as a change to a low sodium diet. Her recent check-up confirmed that her kidneys are functioning well and that she seems to be responding to her heart meds as best as can be expected. She will be taking heart medicine for the foreseeable future. She will also need regular check-ups with the cardiologist every few months for the rest of her life, which can be still be anywhere from three months to three more years.
Due to the high cost of her weekend hospitalization -- which totaled over $6K -- and the specialized costs that comes with cardiology treatment, and the extra money we gave to our cat sitter while they took care of our girl while we were out of town, we are now in a considerable amount of credit card debt -- and are looking towards the many expenses for her on-going cardiac care.
As freelance critics, taxes are rearing their ugly heads, which will financially wipe us out, so any help with these expenses would mean the world to us, and of course to Miss Fanny. Thank you!!!
