Aid for Scott and Nancy's Fire Recovery

My name is Paul and my friends Scott and Nancy White lost their Altadena home and small business in the Eaton Fire on January 8, 2025. They are safe and had evacuated hours earlier, taking with them some family heirlooms, a couple of changes of clothes, and their chicken Molly.

Their home was destroyed and they essentially lost everything. On top of that, literally three days earlier, they had just opened Nancy's new artist loft studio on their property after months of remodeling the garage. This new artist studio was to be Nancy's business moving forward after officially closing on the sale of her decades-old framing store on 12/31/24. The artist studio was lost in the fire as well.

But, but, but. Even more, Scott and Nancy have lost their community... All of their neighbors lost their homes. Their whole community is suffering the loss of their homes, AND of their community, their neighbors.

We can't fix their community. But we can pray. AND, we can help them with the short-term innumerable expenses of starting over. The funds from this fundraiser are to help cover costs that exceed federal aid allowances. Please join me in helping Scott and Nancy!

A little more about me and this GoFundMe: Scott and Nancy have been close friends since I met them shortly after moving to Pasadena in 2001. In 2009 I moved away from the area, but I visit often and the Whites always open their home to host me during my visits. I live in Minneapolis, MN. Scott and Nancy did not ask for me to start this GoFundMe, but humbly accepted, knowing that there were many people like me that love them and wanted to help in this time of need. All funds will go directly to Scott and Nancy for their transition expenses. If there happens to be a surplus given, Scott and Nancy are well connected in the area and will be able to redirect to those in similar situations due to the Eaton fire.
