Aid for Steven's Medical and Home Repairs

Hi everyone!

My name is Brittany and I'm desperately trying to raise funds for my father Steven Lindon. Today, 4/1/25 there was an active shooter situation in Waterloo. Around 3am, my dad got a knock on his door from his neighbor. When he opened the door, his neighbor pushed his way into my fathers residence and went to his closet where my father kept his rifles. He aimed and shot at him, missing him by inches. He then started demanding the password to my dad's safe in order to gain access to his pistols. He was thrown to the ground and held down. My dad gave him the wrong combination two times, and in-between the codes being declined he was beat in the face. The third time he was given the correct code and at that point my dad was able to run out the back door and called 911. He was taken to Geneva General Hospital where they found bleeding on the brain as well as two fractures to his nose. He was released later this afternoon but is very sore. After my father was taken by ambulance he barricaded himself in his house and started shooting out the windows, and a standoff ensued. The neighbor was taken into custody after the police shot tear gas through the windows. My father is looking at mounting medical bills from the incident as well as the cost to fix his home, pay for hotel stays until the house in habitable again, as well as we need to hire a professional crime scene clean up crew because of the gases that were deployed into his home. It is also recommended that any soft furniture be replaces after those gases are used. He had two cats that were in the house as well that needed to be seen by an emergency vet after being exposed to the chemicals. My dad has the biggest heart in the world, and would do anything for anybody. If anyone can help donate to help us get all of this achieved for him, we would be forever grateful.
