Aid for Surrogacy Journey After Escrow Fraud

I am currently on a surrogacy journey with the most amazing surrogate in the world. I unfortunately had many heartbreaking losses up until now and my infertility was caused due a negligent doctor at Kaiser Woodland Hills. I have adenomyosis which is so severe I have permanent fluid in my uterus and ashermans causing adhesions and thin lining. I spent 2.5 years and lots of failed transfers, miscarriages and heartache trying to fix my uterus before moving on to surrogacy as advised by my doctor. My surrogate, Tena, is the most kind hearted, loving, and selfless person you will ever meet. We transferred on 4/8/24 and she is currently 12.5 weeks pregnant with my baby girl!

Here’s the crazy part and why we are asking for money. During surrogacy we sign legal contracts and we are required to put our money in an escrow account. We used an escrow agency that specializes in surrogacy our surrogacy agency has been using for 10 years. We put $50,000 in and have $38,000 remaining. The escrow company is supposed to send monthly payments to our surrogate.

The escrow company is called Surrogacy Escrow Account Management or SEAM. It is run by a fraudulent criminal named Dominique Side who along with our money has stolen hundreds of other intended parents money nationally and internationally. While we have filed reports with multiple agencies including FBI, FTC, DOJ, FCPB, Houston Police Department, Texas Attorney General it is likely going to take years to see our money again if we ever do (previous similar legal cases resulted in jail time but no funds were recovered). There unfortunately is a low chance of success here we’ve been told by multiple lawyers. We may hire a lawyer but the cost could be more than the money we recover. I borrowed that $50k from a bank and am currently paying it off with interest.

Here’s where I am asking for help. If you can donate even just $5 it might make a huge difference cumulatively and could help me continue to make monthly payments to my surrogate so I don’t break my legal contract with her and I can take my baby home.

I cannot believe the government does not regulate escrow companies like they do for banks. This is so disheartening and stressful. Thank you for reading and for your support.
