Help Michelle & Jon Brown’s Family Navigate Their Long Road Ahead After the Palisades Fire

On January 7th, our dear friends Jon and Michelle Brown, along with their children, Bennett and Jackie, lost their home in the devastating fire that swept through the Pacific Palisades mobile home park. Their beautiful home—a space they designed and built with love and intention—was reduced to ashes, leaving them facing an uncertain and overwhelming future.

The loss has been profound. They poured everything they had into creating a home and life in a community they cherished. That process even inspired Michelle to turn her passion for interior design into a career, helping others transform their spaces into places of joy and comfort. Their home was filled with love, laughter, and connection, a reflection of the life they had built together.

But the devastation didn’t stop with their home. Their children’s school was also leveled in the fire. Despite this, the parents in their school community have already committed to finding temporary learning spaces somewhere on the Westside of Los Angeles. To keep Bennett and Jackie connected to their friends and the support system they know, Jon and Michelle will need to rent housing nearby for at least the next 24 months.

The future of the mobile home park remains uncertain. It could take years for the city to clear the property for new homes to be built—if that even happens at all. Jon’s biggest fear is that their community may never be fully restored.

While the Browns have been fortunate to live in a beautiful, abundant community, they do not have endless financial resources. The emotional and financial toll they now face is immense. They’ve always valued being self-sufficient, and asking for help is not something they do lightly. But after many conversations, we encouraged them to allow their friends, family, and community to step up during this unimaginable time.

Jon has been a vital part of this community for decades. Many know him as a friend, neighbor, realtor, and, of course, the DJ who’s brought incredible energy and life to thousands of events throughout his 20 year career. He’s never hesitated to lend his talents to charitable events for organizations like Baby2Baby, Hear With You, and other community fundraisers. He’s someone who’s always shown up for others, and now it’s our turn to show up for him.

Michelle has built a thriving career as an interior designer and is committed to offering her expertise to anyone in need as a way to give back for the love and support their family receives.

The road ahead is long. Jon and Michelle are focused on grieving their loss, supporting their children through this trauma, and finding a way to build a new sense of stability. They have no idea what the future holds, but they remain hopeful.
