My name is CLIP PAYNE, and I’ve been blessed to contribute to the world of music through bands like P-Funk Allstars, The 420 Funk Mob, The Prescription for Mis-America, and Funkadelic. For decades, I’ve lived my life through the rhythm, the groove, and the unity that funk music brings, traveling the world and sharing the magic of sound with all of you.

Today, I find myself in a difficult place. Life has a way of testing us, and right now, I’m facing some of my toughest challenges yet. After a series of personal setbacks—including a previous health crisis for my dog, as well as the devastating fire that damaged my apartment—I'm now struggling financially and finding myself without a steady source of income for the foreseeable future.

In these moments, I’ve always relied on the love and support of my community, and I’m reaching out once again. I’m humbly asking for your help as I navigate this rough patch. Whether it’s a small donation, a kind word, or sharing this message with others, any support is deeply appreciated.

Why I’m Asking for Help:

As an artist, many of us live from project to project, and when the work dries up, things can become challenging. Without income from live performances or recordings, it’s been tough to stay afloat. In addition, with the current state of the world, opportunities for musicians like myself have become few and far between.

It’s in moments like these when I truly feel the strength of the community around me, and I know how much we’ve all been able to lift each other up through shared music and shared experience. This is my time to ask for that same kind of help and kindness. Your contribution will go directly toward helping me cover essential living expenses, keeping a roof over my head, and getting through the rest of this month.

Music has always been my life. From the first note to the last chord, I’ve dedicated myself to the sound of funk, and in doing so, I’ve had the honor of playing alongside some of the most legendary musicians in the industry. If you’ve ever been moved by the funk, the groove, and the spirit of P-Funk or any of the projects I’ve been a part of, you’ve been a part of this journey with me.
