Aid Grace and Travis After Hurricane Devastation
Donation protected
Hi there! My name is Grace McCloud. My fiancé, Travis Hall, 9 year old German Shepherd, Ace, and I recently lost our living space at North Crane Living off of Indian River Boulevard in Vero Beach due to the Hurricane Milton’s devastating damage. On Wednesday, 10/9/24, our apartment was flooded with water intrusion. Most of our personal belongings and furniture including our couch, tv stand, shoes, and the majority of our clothes are gone. More importantly, the place we called home is damaged beyond repair and we are actively looking for another space to live. The apartment had 8-10 inches of standing water including backed up sewage and wildlife habitation. We were without power for 3 days and toxic mold is actively growing, making it an unsafe place to live.
Unfortunately, we do not carry renters insurance due to the skyrocketing costs.
We are looking into as many disaster relief programs as possible, but for the time being, finding a new place to live and replacing daily living and household items is the highest priority.
Below is what any donated funds will be put towards:
-Security deposit for the next place we rent
- Clothing and shoes
- Hygiene items
- Dressers, couch, table, and any other furniture that was damaged
The following are a few images from our apartment during and after the storm:
This is the picture when we evacuated. The water rose above this vehicle’s windows by the time we came back to try and salvage items.
This dumpster floated in front of our apartment when the water was risen.
It won’t let me capture the whole image but we measured the water line on our back patio to be over a foot in depth.
Most of the clothes in our closets got this wet and all our shoes on the ground are soaked.
Any help that you can spare will be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!!!
