Aid Heston and Jen's Family in Crisis

Thank you for taking the time to consider helping us. While there’s been so much going on, I’ll do my best to keep the summary short.

This fund is for my step son, dear friend/soon to be daughter in law and their growing family. The funds raised will go to covering medical costs and help to support them through this difficult season and anticipated financial hardship. Heston works two jobs and prior to hospitalization, Jen was working as an insurance agent.

Four months ago, we were celebrating the exciting announcement of welcoming a baby boy into our family.

Unfortunately, the mama to be began having nausea, headaches, and fatigue. Symptoms easily written off as part of pregnancy, except for the progressive severity and constant nature.

She went to numerous urgent care/ER visits/doctor appointments, but the labs/vitals/tests were always normal.

By advocating fiercely for herself to healthcare providers and insisting on further testing, the underlying cause was discovered.

On July 2, at almost 30 weeks pregnant, a large brain tumor was found. That day, she was quickly transferred to a larger hospital and monitored/assessed by a team of specialists.

On July 5, she underwent a craniotomy for resection and biopsy.

On July 8, she got to come home.

On July 17, pathology results confirmed malignancy.

Due to nature of the cancer, she needs to begin treatment soon and cannot carry to full term.

The baby will be delivered soon via c-section at 33-34 weeks, then spend an estimated 3-7 weeks in NICU.

Mama will then begin chemo and radiation for an estimated 6 weeks where she’ll be closely monitored requiring periodic MRI’s, labs, etc.

These services will take place >3 hours from home, leading to travel expenses, etc.

While our girl is strong, well loved and has a good support system in place, this is a very difficult time and there’s a great need for assistance. Thank you in advance for your help and prayers.
