Shawanna's Fearless Fight!

Shawanna has always been a beacon of hope and a vessel for unrelenting and unconditional love for any and everyone around her. In her 13-year long career as an educator, Shawanna has shown compassion to her Pre-K through twelfth graders, even on her worst days. Shawanna is a caring wife, a loving sister, a supportive friend, and most importantly, an amazing mother to her daughter (a sophomore in college) and her son (a senior high school). She dedicates her life, both personally and professionally, to helping others. Now she is the one in need of OUR help.
Over the past six years Shawanna has battled with cancer, but now she is facing the most mentally, emotionally
What this means for Shawanna and her family is that she’ll soon have to stop working as she continues to fight the battle for her life. A cancer diagnosis itself is a heavy burden to bear, and the financial aspect just adds to the weight. While the costs of medical visits, chemotherapy, and radiation are known—she’s also preparing for the unknown. While her health insurance has been able to cover some medical costs, there are still insurmountable medical fees that must be met. Shawanna is also continuing to be the best mother she can; however, senior year fees and tuition costs are adding to an already demanding financial situation.
We need your help. Whatever you can give, any amount at all, can make a difference.
Our hearts are already so full from of all the prayers and love she has received, and we’ll never be able to fully express our gratitude. Thank you all. God bless!
Over the past six years Shawanna has battled with cancer, but now she is facing the most mentally, emotionally
, physically, and financially challenging rounds of her fight.
Here’s the situation… From what the doctors have told us, Shawanna’s tumor markers have reached an all-time high. Unfortunately, this means that her cancer is growing at an aggressively alarming rate. What started in her breast has now spread to her brain, spine, bones, lower back, pelvis, chest, and lungs. Shawanna has already completed multiple rounds of chemotherapy and has undergone full-brain radiation including Cyber Knife radiation. However, the doctors have finally said there is nothing else they can do. They have even suggested hospice; however, Shawanna (being the fighter that she is) has made it clear that she is NOT in the business of giving up, not yet. Subsequently, the doctors have decided to revisit chemotherapy and radiation in an attempt to alleviate the symptoms that have been restricting her mobility and decreasing her quality of life.
