Aid Jonovan's Journey to Recovery and Family Support
Donation protected
This is VERY hard for me to do. I don't like to ask anyone for help. But I need help. Today, July 15th 2024 Jonovan was in a motorcycle accident on the freeway in Virginia. I was working when I found out he was in the hospital. He has a trauma team caring for him and ortho is heavily involved. From what I have been told is he has a small right basal ganglia hemorrhage (brain bleed). Severe road rash on his body, left knee dislocation with open wounds due to a severe skin avulsion. The doctor told me he could see all of his leg bones by his knee (tibia plateau, fibula, patella you get the point). Left foot/toes 4/5 broken and mid foot. Right foot/toes as well with cuboid fracture. Right ankle is broken and right wrist. These all have open wounds. The doctor told me surgery tomorrow for irrigation and debridement and to see the full extent of his injuries and to make a plan. He is alive. He is talking. I haven't heard from him but Ryan and Ethan have. He's dazed and confused. I'm awaiting a call from his nurse to get more info.
Jonovan: He is currently serving active duty in the Navy. Bright, cheerful, and would give the shirt off of his back to help ANYONE. Doesn't have a mean bone in his body. He is the BEST oldest brother to our 3 boys. They idolize their brother---Ethan is even joining the Navy because of him.
This is the HARDEST thing we've been through as a family. Our 2nd oldest is going off to the Navy bootcamp THIS Wednesday night and goes off on Thursday (7/18/24). Anything helps. Our minds are swirling--drowning. I am the primary provider for my family. I just need to get to him. I need him to know I came. I need to see him. My heart aches. It is no one's responsibility but ours but any help is appreciated. Any donations will be used for us to get to him, for his care and bills that are not covered. I really do not know what his future holds but I'm thankful he is alive. We are blessed.
Today a quote from the Bible speaks to me: "I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand." Psalms 40:1-2 NIV
