Aid Kara's Journey to Health and Strength

I am Kara's mom and I and her family are setting this up to help her with the high medical bills that will be coming from her ICU stay and rehab stay when she is released. (see information after the *** to read how this all began.)

Update November 3rd, 2024

It has been 4 weeks that Kara has been in the hospital and last night, November 2, she finally moved to the re-hab floor. There is a good possibility that she will be there for 2-3 weeks.

With her recovery taking so much longer, and involving doctors from 5 different departments, and needing to have many CT scans, wounds not healing, and on and on and on, I felt it necessary to raise the amount that Kara will need to help with all these medical bills. WE are so grateful for all that have donated. It is a HUGE help and gives Kara comfort so she can concentrate on getting healthy. Mom and Dad are also very grateful for all the help and encouragement that so many are giving to their daughter. God Bless, Jill and Scott

Kara was taken by ambulance early Saturday Morning, Oct 5th, and quickly moved to the ICU. She is sepsis, and very sick. Here dad and I flew to Atlanta, from Wisconsin, to be with her.

It has been very intense and involved on getting her better. Lots and lots of meds and everything changes minute to minute. 1 step forward, 3 steps back, 2 steps forward, 1 step back. After being in ICU 4 days she has been taken off of 2 of the 4 medicines that are helping with blood pressure, and 1 of the 4 med working on infection. The side affects of these meds is as scary as the illness.

She is very very weak and in a lot of pain. We just found out today that she will need to go to an inhouse rehab place for PT and OT.

So, with not knowing how long she will actually be in ICU, then rehab, I thought I'd start this to help her. We all know how insurance works and realize there will be a lot she will need to pay out of pocket.

Any amount is wonderful, but even more important is prayers. Thank you to all that are supporting us emotionally, spiritually and financially. All is sooo appreciated. We love you all!
