Aid Kerri in Her Health and Housing Crisis
Donation protected
Many people know Kerri Rawson as the author of A Serial Killer's Daughter, her account of growing up with her father, Dennis Rader, the notorious "BTK Killer." Her personal experience with the aftermath of her father's arrest and subsequent conviction for the murders of ten people caused Kerri to become a fierce advocate for the victims, survivors, and families of murderers. She has spoken out on television shows and podcasts, and is writing a second book about the ways in which life is irreparably altered when a family member has been convicted of heinous crimes.
Behind the public image, Kerri leads a quiet life. She loves goofing off with her kids, and her Twitter following are often treated to entertaining asides about the events of the day, Taylor Swift concerts, and myriad other side quests.
But anyone who has ever tried to live on a writer's income can tell you that it leaves no room for financial surprises. Unfortunately, Kerri has recently experienced a series of those surprises, culminating in a lengthy hospital stay battling a number of health issues, likely related to long COVID. This came at the worst possible time, just as she was packing up her home to move. Thus, in January, instead of moving into a new apartment, Kerri was hospitalized and her belongings went into storage. A month of medical care has incurred expenses that far exceed her resources, and now she has no home to be discharged to for rest and recovery.
Please help Kerri get back on her feet so that she may recuperate and resume writing, instead of facing the stress of homelessness on top of everything else she has endured. Even if you can only donate enough to pay for a meal, that's one meal Kerri won't have to worry about.
