Support Leonard’s Surgery for Rare Facial Bone Condition (Fibrous Dysplasia)

Hi, my name is David Foster, and I’m organizing this fundraiser for my dear friend Leonard V. Cuico, who lives in the Philippines.

Leonard has been diagnosed with a rare condition called Facial Fibrous Dysplasia, a bone disease that causes abnormal growth in the skull and face. It’s non-cancerous, but if left untreated, it can lead to blindness, severe facial disfigurement, and life-threatening complications.

Leonard’s Story

Leonard isn’t just a friend — he’s truly an inspiration. He’s been physically disabled since birth and walks using a single crutch, yet he remains strong, hopeful, and incredibly smart. He speaks English fluently, has a beautiful singing voice, and is always thinking of ways to help others — even while quietly dealing with his own pain.

Today, Leonard’s condition has caused significant swelling on one side of his face, and the pressure behind his eye is putting him at risk of gradually losing his vision. He experiences daily discomfort and pain, and while he continues to carry himself with grace, the emotional and physical toll is growing.

He lives with his loving mother, who unfortunately cannot afford the medical care he desperately needs. Without treatment, his condition will continue to worsen.

What We’re Raising

We’re raising funds to cover the full scope of medical care and recovery needs, which will include:

Diagnostic tests and imaging

Surgery to remove the affected bone

Facial reconstruction (if needed)

Post-surgery care, including medication, follow-ups, wound care, and therapy

Transportation to and from hospitals

Basic living support during recovery

If we exceed our goal, every extra dollar will go toward additional aftercare, therapy, and any emergency medical needs.
