On Friday, December 13, our lives were shattered when my aunt and uncle, Maria Luisa (Bicha) and Asunción (Chuncho), were struck by a car while crossing the street. In an instant, everything changed. While my uncle is slowly recovering from his injuries, we tragically lost our beloved Maria Luisa. She was a shining light in the lives of everyone who knew her — a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend — and her loss has left an irreplaceable void.

My aunt and my uncle were together for 44 years, building a life filled with love, joy, and memories. Their bond was unbreakable, and now my uncle must face the unimaginable task of healing from his own injuries while navigating life without his soulmate. Their children, grandchildren, and all of us in the extended family are heartbroken and struggling to come to terms with this devastating tragedy.

We are humbly asking for any support you can offer during this extremely difficult time. The funds raised will help cover the costs of Maria Luisa’s funeral services, ensuring that she is given the dignified farewell she deserves.
