Aid MLC's Rebuild: Essential Community Resource
Tax deductible
My name is Maureen Graham, and I am the Executive Director of The Medical Loan Closet of Henderson County, Inc. On September 27, Hurricane Helene hit Western North Carolina, leading to extensive damage at MLC facility at 1225 7th Ave, East in Hendersonville. Due to 8 feet of flooding filling the building and extreme winds, the organization has had to have the building stripped down to studs, requiring complete reconstruction, including HVAC, flooring, walls, and electrical systems.
The devastation has been overwhelming. We've assisted the community with durable medical equipment at very low cost for 60 years, and they depend on us. The local doctors and hospitals depend on us to assist their patients, and we are struggling. We did lose everything. We just recently were able to reopen as we have gotten the basics—electric, plumbing, and heat. But we need much more. Please donate so we can get sorely needed items like computers, desks, flooring, tools, and items needed to maintain equipment, and to rebuild the inside of the building.
We are a 501(c)3 nonprofit and have received some assistance from The Community Foundation, but we need more funds to really get us up and running. Please help so we can assist our community.
