Aid Raven Maduros family in Overcoming Fire's Aftermath
Donation protected
At the beginning of this disaster, we felt hopeless, but the community’s incredible support has given us a renewed sense of hope. I’ve also been incredibly fortunate to be one of the very few houses that survived on my block. It’s no longer a neighborhood, the houses around my perimeter to the left, right all around….are gone.
We’re so fortunate to have our belongings and as we were convinced they were fully lost. We are currently staying in tents in my grandma‘s backyard and are taking it day by day.
Our house may still be standing,
but it is inhabitable the water and area is contaminated, there’s no gas, electricity and air quality is toxic. With the evacuation order still strong, and many looters trying to break into the remaining houses. We are not out of the woods yet. Things are still uncertain anything can change.
I am currently without a job and living month-to-month. My mother, who was well-loved in the community as a housekeeper for many families in Altadena, is also without work since Altadena is no longer standing. We have no home and no source of income. While our house is still intact, we cannot and will not live there. Rebuilding will take years, and we must relocate.
We are reaching out for support as we work to recover from this catastrophe if you can, please consider donating to help cover the cost of recovery any contribution no matter how small will make a difference thank you for showering us with love and support.
