Aid Ron Gray's Fight Against Moyamoya Disease
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Donna Gray and my husband Ron Gray recently had a stroke which was a shock to us all. My children and I are looking for some help to cover medical expenses, groceries, co-pays, travel, and other items to assist with my husband during this time. Anything is a major help to the Gray family. This is also includes a chair to lift him up the stairs which is a very needed and expensive item as it is over $7000. Ron and I are both out of work temporarily while he recovers which makes money extremely tight.
Ron has been diagnosed with a disease called MoyaMoya that affects the blood vessels in the brain. This can lead to other problems involving brain tissue damage, weakness in the body, and a higher risk of another stroke. This has caused major weakness on the right side of his body. He needs the surgery to treat the Moyamoya and it is a highly expensive and insurance doesn’t cover it. Because of this he will be traveling to Vanderbilt for appointments for the best treatment.
Ron is extremely active in our home community where he is a high school history teacher and has been a there for 32 years. He’s made an impact on many of students and I know it’s been hard for him to be away. Ron also coaches middle school football at Robertsville and has coached for as long as I can remember at Oak Ridge high School and several schools in east Tennessee. It is one of his greatest passions in life and takes tremendous pride in all he does. He keeps up with and cares for so many of his students and players even years after them graduating. We have seen him touch so many lives and make a big impact in the Oak Ridge community.
Thank you to anyone and everyone who can help donate and for all of your prayers.
