Help Lynn Fight Ovarian Cancer

In August, just as her school year was about to begin, our dear family member, Lynn, learned she has stage 4 ovarian cancer. Since then, she has faced a whirlwind of appointments, which included scans, biopsies, radiation and chemotherapy. As she continues with chemotherapy, the best course of action for Lynn to stay healthy includes taking time off of work. As a result, the Petersons will be adjusting to lost wages and added medical expenses. They trust that God will provide, and we happen to believe that one way He provides is through caring people. We created this page in hopes that it will make it simpler for the caring people in Lynn’s life to support her and her family during this difficult time.

Here are some ways you can do this:

1) Pray for healing. Stage 4 cancer is a tough diagnosis, but we believe God can heal.

2) Pray for strength and peace for the Peterson family. This journey has been, and will continue to be full of physical and emotional ups-and-downs. Let’s cover Lynn’s family in prayer.

3) Help them financially. Lynn will be unable to work for the foreseeable future. Wouldn’t it be nice if the only thing they needed to focus on right now was healing? We are hopeful we can raise enough money to help cover the loss of income and added expenses.

4) Any other creative ideas you have for supporting the Petersons would of course be appreciated.

Lynn, by nature, is a selfless and deeply caring person, committed and loving wife, mother, teacher, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Despite her illness, she maintains a strong faith and a humble spirit which is inspiring to those around her. She regularly puts the needs of others before her own. Now we have a chance to give back in a tangible way. Let’s take this opportunity to bestow on Lynn the same kindness and generosity she has often bestowed on us - her family, friends, students and loved ones.
