Caring for Stephanie: Yolanda’s Love Lives On

ENGLISH:

On the evening of September 12th, 2024, at around 6:15 pm, Yolanda Villar was walking across Peninsula Avenue in San Mateo when she was tragically struck by a vehicle. She passed away shortly after, leaving behind her beloved 18-year-old daughter, Stephanie, who has special needs.

Yolanda was not just a mother; she was Stephanie’s greatest protector and fiercest advocate. Everything she did was for her daughter. To those who knew her, Yolanda’s love for Stephanie was her life’s purpose. She believed that God placed her on this earth to ensure Stephanie was safe, loved, and cared for. Her heart overflowed with pride for her daughter, and she devoted every moment of her life to making sure Stephanie felt cherished.

Yolanda’s friends describe her as a person with a heart full of kindness and an unwavering sense of loyalty. She was the type of person who would drop everything to help someone in need, never expecting anything in return. Her generosity was limitless, and her love for her friends and family knew no bounds. Now, the family left to carry on is small. Aside from Stephanie, Yolanda’s sister, Cata, is her only family in the US. Like Yolanda, Cata also cares for a special needs child, her son Alex.

With Yolanda gone, Cata now faces the emotional and financial weight of raising Stephanie for the rest of her life. The love and care Stephanie will need are immense, and Cata will carry this responsibility with the same devotion Yolanda had.

This GoFundMe is being organized to support Stephanie and Cata during this heartbreaking time. Our goal is to raise enough funds to ensure that Stephanie continues to live with the dignity and love her mother so fiercely provided, even though Yolanda is no longer here to guide her. Every contribution will help Stephanie receive the care and support she deserves in the loving arms of her aunt.

ESPANOL:
