Aid the Gowan Family After Devastating Flood
Donation protected
As many of you may have seen in the news, Hurricane Helene has caused devastating flooding in Western North Carolina, leading to widespread destruction that is hard to comprehend. My name is Gwen Gowan, and I am raising funds for my parents, Pat and Charlie Gowan, and sister, Elizabeth, who live in McDowell County.
Both my brother and I are college students and were away when the flash floods and mudslides struck. Our parents and younger sister were home and narrowly escaped through a window just as the water surged into our house. While they are safe, our home is a total loss, as is our family’s campground, Triple C. In just a day, we lost everything: our home, our family business, our pets, cars, and all of our belongings.
The funds raised will be used for their immediate needs, such as clothing and essentials, as well as long-term needs like finding a new place to live.
If you are able to contribute, please consider donating to help us. If you can’t donate, sharing this message would mean the world to us. Please keep Western North Carolina in your prayers and consider supporting other GoFundMe campaigns. Donations to organizations assisting those in need in the area during this difficult time would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for your support.
