Aid the Moreno Family's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
On December 21st, The Moreno Family was involved in a tragic event at the Killeen Mall. Lesmes Sr, Jacqueline, Lesyalie, and her 6 year old daughter Shameris were shopping for Christmas when a drunk driver involved in a police chase, drove into the front of JCPenney, striking the Moreno family at checkout. The driver was then involved in a shootout with law enforcement where he was eventually killed. Lesmes Sr was treated at the hospital and released, however, Jacqueline, Lesyalie, and Shameris remain in the hospital awaiting surgeries and rehabilitation. Jacqueline suffered a hip fracture and broken ankle. Shameris suffered a broken rib, ankle as well as internal bruising that’s affecting her oxygen levels. Lesyalie suffered multiple fractures on her face as well as pelvic separation. Lesyalie remains in ICU awaiting multiple surgeries and a long road of rehabilitation.
Any contribution, no matter how small, would be deeply appreciated by The Moreno Family and will make a significant difference in their lives over the upcoming year as they navigate through not only the physical healing, but mental as well. They will be using these funds to replace loss wages, any medical equipment needed, rehab, etc.
The Moreno Family has always been the light in a dark world. They never meet a stranger and strive to make everyone feel welcomed and loved. I hope this donation will help them feel the love and comfort they show to others daily. We thank you for your kindness, support, and generosity
