Aid Travis' Healing and Artistic Revival
Donation protected
A devastating event occurred on Wednesday, April 9th, 2025, when the world lost a prolific folk artist, Joe Simmons, who was known for his love of art imbued with natural aspects that spanned everywhere between carvings to horse-drawn carriages and everything in between. Joe was lost in a fire that razed his life's work, which was encompassed in his cabin... a cabin that meant so much to so many and was a masterpiece in its own right, complete with intricate wood carvings and other works that will forever be remembered by those of us fortunate enough to have memories of the property. Joe was the father of two sons, Travis and Luke, who are prolific artists in their own right. During this life-altering event, Travis was severely injured and life-flighted to Shands Hospital where he is recovering. Travis has been a lifelong erudite who expressed himself through his award-winning art. Travis' loss was monumental in so many ways. He lost his works in progress, as well as all of his art supplies, day-to-day essentials, and so much more that is unfathomable. There is a long road to recovery for Travis to be able to produce masterpieces again, notwithstanding medical bills and therapy for his body, including his hands. Masterpieces that hang in so many of our homes. Please find the grace to help someone that holds a place in so many of our hearts.
