Aid Wat Carolina Monks in Flood Recovery

Hello friends. There was a flood that took over Wat Carolina in Bolivia, NC today, 9/16/2024. My father has been a monk there for over 15 years.

The temple is currently flooded and the monks are stuck in a small house and trying to move into the big temple. While the Laotian and Thai community here is strong, it is small. I am looking to help raise funds to support.

The temple doesn't have insurance and I want to try to get ahead of things and help them create a safe and healthy environment for him and the other 3 elderly monks.

Money will be used toward these: food, toiletries, dry goods, many cleaning supplies, clothing, sandals, a used refrigerator, a used freezer, a washer dryer, construction equipment and tools, bedding, blankets, etc., and help cleaning and drying items once the flood subsides. The biggest problem they will face is any water damage and mold. Restoration company (That is what will cost the most.)

Looking for any suggestions on restoration companies, local support, etc.

The fire department was called to support moving them to the larger temple that is above the water line and about 50 yards away. However, due to major flooding in the area, they are playing the waiting game and trying to stay in a higher building for now. However, it's slowly creeping up where they are.
