Aidan and his Eagle Scout project

Hi, my name is Aidan and I am raising funds to complete my Eagle Scout project so I can be awarded the highest rank in the Boy Scouts of America organization.

My family and I have hiked the trails, at Chain O’Lakes State Park for as long as I can remember.

My first extended hike with Cub Scouts was at Chain O’ Lakes.

Every summer, either through Cub Scouts or Boy Scouts, we have camped at this park, made many memories, and learned a lot about the outdoors, nature, and life skills.

I felt it was only fitting to give back to the park which has been a foundational institution for my growth.

My project is two-fold:

- 1st is to build a covered observation deck/rest area on one of those most popular trails – it just so happens to be across from an Osprey nest. So, if you are lucky, or spend enough time, you can see them flying. Hence the name “Osprey Outlook”

- 2nd is to build an Informational Display Sign, that will provide educational information about the Osprey, the trail, park, and vegetation in this part of the park.
