Aidan Taylor’s Cancer Treatment
Donation protected
Hi we are a group of friends fundraising for Aidan, who at aged 21 was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer. Aidan’s recent treatment cost $80 000 with ongoing immunotherapy at $4 000 per monthly round.
As friends of the family we would like to help fundraise.
These are his words-
“In August 2021 I was diagnosed with Liposarcoma after noticing my stomach had started to swell. I had experienced some pain and discomfort prior but the size of my belly was the main cause of concern. After receiving scans it showed that I had a large tumour in my abdomen.
Soon after, I underwent chemotherapy and a major operation to remove the tumour. All went as well as possible, the tumour was removed at a size of 50cm. As a result, I had other organs and tissue removed leaving me with 2 permanent stomas. For 2 years I lived cancer free, however in feb 2024 a scan revealed a baseball sized tumour near my kidney, surgery removed the tumor along with the kidney, then another small tumour closer to my liver.
It was apparent the cancer would continue returning unless we went through immunotherapy, in November when scans once again revealed a tumour low in my pelvis, unfortunately as my cancer is extremely rare, particularly for someone my age, government funding is not provided, therefore self funding is necessary, we’re hoping this will beat the cancer for good.”
