Several months ago, my sister got the devastating news that her placenta wasn't providing enough nutrients to advance the growth of her sweet baby boy, Aidan Theodore. After developing preeclampsia through the process, the decision was made to deliver Aidan on January 28th, approximately three months before his actual due date.
While is the case for many pre-mature babies, Aidan had to fight in the NICU from the very beginning. Being born so early, and being under-sized even for the number of weeks, Aidan's lungs weren't fully developed. Through many weeks of fighting and overcoming several big scares, Aidan lost his fight and became a sweet angel of God on the morning of April 2nd. Due to the COVID pandemic, the memorial service for Aidan was this past weekend. Our families finally got closure from the heartbreaking and devastating loss of our little fighter.
This hardship, as I'm sure you can imagine, was not only a mental one, but also a financial one. Aidan was on every monitor imaginable in the NICU and my sister didn't leave the hospital from January to April to be with her baby boy.I am starting this fundraiser to help off-set the cost that my sister and her wife, Kim, have endured through this difficult time.
