Aidan's Perineal Urethrostomy Surgery
Donation protected
My name is McKenzie McPherson and my roomate Kennedy Collins, and I are proud cat moms to a 1 & 1/2 year old orange tabby named Aidan. I just finished my freshman year of community college while working 35+ hours a week to afford life expenses
Aidan provides an abundance of emotional relief when it comes to sleeping and having motivation to push ourselves in school. The source of my determination to succeed and work hard stems from the love my cat gives me. Powering through long shifts becomes worth it when I know I have a sweet fur baby at home that is going to be excited to see me and homework becomes less stressful when he sleeps next to me and provides endless amounts of emotional support throughout many difficult transitions in early adulthood.
We recently discovered that he was in excruciating pain from an urinary obstruction. The inability to urinate caused his bladder to double in size leading to the need for emergency surgery to flush his urine and temporarily relieve him. Aidan spent 4 days in veterinary care and will be returning for a PU surgery in which will prevent him from becoming blocked in the future. We have already spent our last available pennies on him and are looking to face a few thousand more in vet bills when he is finished recovering.
We are working hard at school and work to push ourselves through college and having him grow with us is extremely beneficial to our well-being. Any bit of donation helps and we could not put into words the appreciation we would feel for helping us keep this loving trooper as happy and healthy as he keeps us.
