Our son is looking to raise $200 by March 30, to buy a software program for his 5th grade class. Our son has been diagnosed with Aspergers, and does not like to draw attention to himself. It was with great surprise, therefore, when he wrote up a proposal to present to his teacher for a way to teach children a variety of subjects and make it fun. His proposal, in his own words reads:
"When we do Hour of Code most of us do the Minecraft one because Minecraft is a fun and popular game. Microsoft has created a new Minecraft called "Minecraft Education Edition" which is used to teach children using Minecraft.
I think this will be a fun and easy way to teach us children.
If you accept this idea I would love to be one of the builders, teach you how to teach with this, and tell you how we can use this in rotations. Education Edition has chalk boards, borders so we can't leave the classroom during class, allow blocks that lets us build in that area, deny blocks so we CAN'T build in that area, cameras so we can capture the best moments, and NPCs that could tell us what to do.
I think this is a great idea and I hope you do too!"
Our son also suggested raising the money for the software with any extra money going to the school for other classes to get needed supplies. The fact that our shy boy is wanting to stand in front of a class and help teach that class, AND wants to raise the money so others may benefit really touched us. We hope it will touch you, and you will contribute to Aidan's Education Initiative.
Thank you for your consideration and support.
