Aidan's Urgent Kidney Transplant Fund
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Amy Hendley and I am creating this for my friend Lindsey Dunham and her son Aidan who is in urgent need of a kidney transplant. During this time, they will need money for medical expenses, traveling, food at the hospital and on the road, and loss of income while Lindsey stays with Aidan from notice of need until recovery is complete. Lindsey is a single mom so while she would never ask for herself, I know that loss of income taking time from work is an extra burden no parent should have to deal with when worried about the life of their child. Help me help her and Aidan by alleviating some of their expenses.
This photo is from when Aidan turned 13, something that Lindsey never thought could happen when he was a baby. Aidan was born as an emergency induction at 35 weeks and though his survival alone was miracle upon miracle, he needed a kidney transplant as a toddler. His father donated that kidney and it has lasted up until now.
A few months ago, testing began to show that Aidan’s kidney was beginning to decrease in function and now it is time to act once again to save his life.
Lindsey is currently waiting on insurance approval. His team of doctors met last week and collectively decided he urgently needs to be switched to “active” on the transplant list. Insurance just has to agree.
Once insurance clears the transplant surgery, they could receive a call at any time with a kidney.
Aidan’s labs are maintaining where they are… which feels like an answered prayer while they wait for the right kidney, whether it is deceased or living. As far as Lindsey knows, there are living donors in the works but per HIPPA, they cannot tell her anything about them.
Aidan is running out of time for a living donor.
Current prayers:
Aidan’s hemoglobin remains where it’s at or higher so that he can avoid needing shots to stimulate RBC production or even a transfusion.
All labs, including renal labs, would remain stable while they wait.
That God would bring the BEST kidney and if it’s a deceased donor that God would wrap that family in His arms and allow them to feel how BIG and BEAUTIFUL their decision is to donate.
