Nepal Earthquake Relief Fund for Children without Parents
I was born in Bhutan and fled to Nepal in 1992. I lost my father when I was very young. I have only one photograph of my father. He is covered by a white funeral shroud. I can’t scratch the photograph to see my father’s face; whom I have never seen before. I grew up in a refugee camp in Nepal and severed the community working with the Bhutanese refugee children for many years. I am a selfless and dedicated community volunteer.
What happens to the children when they lost parents a few days after birth or in early ages and are raised—not at home, by their parents—but entirely by relatives, educators, and in peer groups? Please take a second, close your eyes and imagine the hardships of the children who have lost their parents and family members in a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake in Nepal that has killed thousands of people, caused thousands of injuries, destroyed homes and infrastructures. Nearly two million children are feared affected; more than 1 million children are in need of urgent humanitarian assistance and hundreds of children are orphaned. I am deeply touched with this tragedy and I have voluntarily started this campaign to raise funds to help children who have lost one or both parents in Nepal earthquake.
Every penny counts! I would like to request you to Donate Online now to help the children at heightened risk. Your donations will go through one of the reliable non-governmental organizations who have been working for children with its extensive programs in Nepal. I will hand out 100% of the funds ensuring the needs on the ground for children. I will surely update information regarding the distribution of raised funds.
Thank you in advance for your donation and support.
Sincerely,
Gopal Rai
