L’Ouragan BÉRYL a frappé Carriacou dans les Petites Antilles et détruit tout sur son passage Lundi le 1er Juillet 2024.

Cet ouragan de catégorie 4, qui s’est rapidement transformé en catégorie 5 juste avant de frapper de plein fouet avec «l’œil » de la tempête, le cœur de l’île de Carriacou à Grenade, a complétement détruit la maison qui hébergeait les sièges sociaux de leurs entreprises, et où plus précisément, leur Boulangerie et leur École de Kitesurf opéraient.

Nos ami.e.s Patto et Julie viennent de perdre leur lieu de vie mais également leur source de

revenus, et tous leurs effets personnels.

AUJOURD’HUI ILS ONT BESOIN DE VOTRE AIDE !

Patto et Julie doivent réparer leur voilier "Payaso", gravement endommagé, à demi-coulé et échoué sur les berges de la mangrove, sur lequel ils habitent depuis 22 ans.

Ils doivent reconstuire entièrement leur boulangerie artisanale ainsi que rebatir leur local-entrepôt pour l'équipements de leur école de kitesurf.

Ils ont perdu la presque totalité de leurs matériel d’école de kitesurf pour enseigner, leurs biens personnels, leurs équipements de boulange, et le peu qui reste de matériel pour opérer les commerces est gravement endommagé et hors d'usage, et devront être remplacé.

En plus de remettre sur pied leur structure essentielle de vie, de retrouver leur source de revenus, ils devront aussi faire face à la dure réalité des dégâts engendrés par l'ouragan, et participer durant plusieurs mois à prêter mains fortes à la communauté pour reconstruire leur île.

13 ans de travail acharné pour bâtir leur rêve … ils ont tout perdu.

Hurricane BÉRYL hit Carriacou in the Lesser Antilles and destroyed everything in its path Monday July 1, 2024. This category 4 hurricane, which quickly transformed into category 5 just before hitting the heart of the island of Carriacou in Grenada with the "eye" of the storm, completely destroyed their house which hold the head offices of their companies, and where more specifically, their Bakery and Kitesurfing School operated.

Our friends Patto and Julie have just lost their place of living but also their source of

income, and all their personal effects.

TODAY THEY NEED YOUR HELP!

Patto and Julie must repair their sailboat "Payaso", seriously damaged, half-sunk and stranded on the banks of the mangrove, on which they have permanently lived for 22 years.

They must completely rebuild their artisanal bakery as well as rebuild their warehouse space for the equipment for their kitesurfing school.

They lost almost all of their kitesurfing school equipment to teach, their personal belongings, their baking equipment, and the little remaining equipment to operate the businesses is seriously damaged and out of order, and will have to be replaced .

In addition to getting their essential life structure back on track and finding their source of income, they will also have to face the harsh reality of the damage caused by the hurricane, and participate for several months in lending a helping hand to the community to rebuild their island.

13 years of hard work to build their dream... they lost everything.

Beaucoup de gens connaissant le duo Patto et Julie savent qu'ils sont une source d'inspiration pour plusieurs, poursuivant leurs rêves et les transformant en projets tangibles et concrets, mais pour ceux et celles qui ne savent pas qui ils sont, on les recconnait surtout comme deux artistes de Cirque canadiens indépendants (Production Circo Loco, établie en 1999) performant internationalement depuis 28 ans.

Ils vivent sur leur voilier de 42pieds depuis 22ans, d'où ils ont entreprit des travaux complets de rénovations pendant 8 ans, en 2011, afin de se mouvoir dans les Caraïbes en 2019 pour continuer leurs projets artistiques innovateurs, établir une boulangerie artisanale, une École de Kitesurf et un Centre holistique & d'entrainement.

Nos deux Navig-Artistes sont tombée en amour avec l'ile de Carriacou, il y a de cela 5ans, où ils y ont établis campement depuis.

Ils emploient des travailleurs locaux et s'impliquent énormément dans la communauté locale pour le développement touristique, artistique et social de l'ile.

Depuis 3 ans, ils ont travailler fort à développer et mettre sur pied leurs souper-spectacles, et offrir des ateliers de cirque pour les jeunes de l'ile.

Many people who know the duo Patto and Julie know that they are a source of inspiration for many, pursuing their dreams and transforming them into tangible and concrete projects, but for those who do not know who they are, we recognize them especially as two independent Canadian Circus artists (Circo Loco Production, established in 1999) performing internationally for 28 years.

They have lived on their 42-footlong sailboat for 22 years, where they undertook complete renovation work for 8 years, in 2011, in order to move to the Caribbean in 2019 to continue their innovative artistic projects, establish an artisan bakery, a Kitesurfing School and a Holistic & Training Center.

Our two Navig-Artistes fell in love with the island of Carriacou in Grenada 5 years ago, where they have established camp ever since.

They employ local workers and are heavily involved in the local community for the tourism, artistic and social development of the island.

For 3 years, they have worked hard to develop and put on their dinner shows, and offer circus workshops for young people on the island.

À propos de l’Ouragan :

L’Ouragan Béryl a frappé le 1 juillet 2024, avec une force jamais vu auparavant.

Passant de force 4 à 5 (maximum) juste avant de percuter l’île de Carriacou, détruisant absolument tout sur son passage.

L’île est dans une situation critique, et nécessite énormément de ressources, mains-d'œuvre, et de solidarité, afin de redevenir autonome et fonctionelle.

La connection internet avec les gens de l'ile est encore très limitée, les infrastructure de reconstructions et médicales sont complètement dépassées, en plus d’avoir perdu toutes les tours téléphoniques permettant les communications avec l’étranger.

About the Hurricane:

Hurricane Beryl struck on July 1, 2024, with force never seen before.

Going from strength 4 to 5 (maximum) just before hitting the island of Carriacou, destroying absolutely everything in its path.

The island is in a critical situation, and requires an enormous amount of resources, labor, and solidarity, in order to become autonomous and functional again.

The internet connection with the people of the island is still very limited, the reconstruction and medical infrastructures are completely outdated, in addition to having lost all the telephone towers allowing communications with abroad.

Contribution en matériaux, vivres, achat d'un désalinisateur portable pour eau potable
