Aiden, Ellie, and Hope
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Charity Richardson. I am starting this GoFundMe in hopes to help my sister and her kids. I am going out of my comfort zone in hopes to improve their lives, with the help of our community.
Backstory:
My older sister (Hope) has been blessed with two of the most amazing children, Aiden (13) and Ellie (9). Both of these sweet babies have a diagnosis of Spinal muscular atrophy, (SMA) is a genetic condition that causes muscle weakness and atrophy (when muscles get smaller). SMA can affect a child's ability to crawl, walk, sit up, and control head movements. Both of her babies need around the clock care, for they are wheelchair bound.
Hope is not only their mother, but also their soul care provider, teacher, friend, and protector. I have watched my sister for 13 years straight work day in and day out taking care of her two precious children. Endless doctor’s appointments, therapy, home care, and love. Unfortunately, my sister is unable to work due to their need for her availability.
Current:
Yesterday, Aiden (13) was checked into UK PED ICU. He is being hospitalized for the Flu and pneumonia. Hope and Aiden are staying at UK until Aiden is well enough to come home. Ellie (9) is staying at home with the company of myself and her nana in the meantime. Please mention Aiden by name in your prayers if you happen to stubble across this.
Donations would be used for:
Hope is a single mother, on a fixed income. I am hoping these possible donations can help them get into a better and more comfortable living environment. These babes have specialized hospital beds that take up a lot of space. Hope is currently sharing a room with Ellie, so Aiden can have his own space. They need something wheelchair accessible and more roomy. These funds will also help Hope and Aiden during their stay at UK. We are praying that he is on his way home and being healed. But for now the extra money would help her out, as she is staying in the room with him until they come home. This family is the sweetest, most humble people I know. My sister has no idea I’m making this GoFundMe and will most likely ask me to take it down. I am asking for a blessing from the community. I wish I was able to make this happen myself, instead of reaching out. Please, If you could help share this story, and if possible donate. Every share or dollar is appreciated and accepted.
