Une famille de cœur 

 

Nous sommes Alex Joseph (chef de cuisine) et Thierry Naoum (directeur de salle), fiers détenteurs de Rouge Tomate et Alice Restaurant Cocktail Bar.

 

Nous y avons travaillé respectivement pendant 5 et 13 ans en tant qu’ouvriers.
En 2013, nous nous lançons et rachetons l’entreprise en fonds propres et à l’aide d’un crédit contracté chez Belfius Banque. C’est l’aventure d’une vie qui commence. 

Nous avons la chance d’avoir une clientèle cosmopolite. Le restaurant et le bar sont
fréquentés par des personnes de toutes cultures et nationalités, voir même célèbres (JCVD, Mika, Calogero, La famille Royale de Belgique, Sportifs de haut niveau, acteurs et bien d'autres). Sans oublier nos clients fidèles, nos habitués bruxellois avec qui un lien amical et chaleureux s'est créé.

 

Persévérer pour avancer 

 

Forts de notre persévérance, nous avons surmontés un certain nombre d’épreuves connues de tous : les attentats, le lockdown, les travaux des bâtiments voisins, le démontage du carrefour Bailly,.. Mais nous avons toujours travaillé sans ménagement à l'évolution de notre entreprise, à la formation de personnel non qualifié ( entre 10 Tp et  17 Tp selon les saisons) et au développement de nouveaux concepts comme le Alice Cocktail Bar au premier étage du restaurant, ouvert en octobre 2016.


Affaiblis mais pas vaincus 

 

Malgré un premier confinement extrêmement compliqué, nous avons tenu bon avec un nouveau concept de menu au choix : 3 services à 30€ qui change chaque semaine.

 

Le bar étant fermé à la suite des mesures sanitaires, le restaurant à lui seul, et grâce aux clients fidèles a pu surmonter fragilement la première crise du coronavirus. 

Les perspectives semblaient bonnes... mais le deuxième confinement est arrivé.

 

Comme beaucoup, nous n’avons reçu du gouvernement qu’une prime unique de 3000€. Et la nouvelle prime promise et relatée dans la presse n’est toujours pas octroyée à ce jour.

 

Pour nous, la situation devient critique car les frais fixes mensuels sont là : 

·      Loyers 12500€ / dette actuelle 50000€

·      Electricité 2000€ / dette actuelle 10000€

·      Internet téléphone 650€ /0

·      Crédit d'investissement Belfius 4900€ / solde restant dû 50000€

·      Dettes sociales et fiscales gelées 60000€



 

 

15 février 2021, fermeture imminente

 

Début février, Belfius nous annonce que notre crédit d'investissement (remboursé pendant 7 ans) sera dénoncé avec tous les inconvénients que cela comprend si nous ne 
payons pas 20000€ pour le 15 Février 2021.


La société ayant bénéficié dans le passé d'une prime suite aux problèmes de crise causés par les attentats et le lockdown, la banque précise dans son courrier que Rouge Tomate n'entre pas dans l'éligibilité de Febelfin pour les accords et reports de crédits.


La prj datant de deux années passées a pourtant bien été validée par le tribunal du commerce de Bruxelles, sans hésitation sur la continuité de l'entreprise. 

 

Nous avons clôturé nos comptes 2019 « Rouge Tomate Bruxelles & Alice Cocktail Bar » avec 139k de bénéfices au bilan.

A loving family

 

We are Alex Joseph (chef) and Thierry Naoum (restaurant manager), proud owners of Rouge Tomate and Alice Cocktail Bar.

 

We worked there for 5 and 13 years respectively as workers. Then in 2013, we launched and bought the business with our personal savings and with the help of a loan contracted with Belfius Bank. It is the beginning of an adventure of a lifetime.

We are fortunate to have a cosmopolitan clientele. The restaurant and bar are frequented by people of all cultures and nationalities, even famous people (JCVD, Mika, Calogero, The Royal Family of Belgium, high-level sportsmen, actors and many others). Without forgetting our loyal customers, our regulars in Brussels with whom a friendly and warm bond has been created.

 

Persevere to move forward

 

Thanks to our perseverance, we overcame a number of hardships known to all: the terrorist attacks, the lockdown, the work on neighbouring buildings, the dismantling of the Bailly crossroads, etc... But we have always worked hard on the development of our company, to the training of unqualified personnel (between 10 Ft and 17 Ft employees depending on the season) and the development of new concepts such as the Alice Cocktail Bar on the first floor of the restaurant, opened in October 2016.

 

Weakened but not defeated

 

Despite an extremely complicated initial confinement, we stuck it out with a new concept of a weekly changing 3 courses choice menu at € 30.

 

The bar being closed following sanitary measures, the restaurant alone, and thanks to loyal customers, was able to overcome the first coronavirus crisis.

The outlook looked good ... but the second lockdown has arrived.

 

Like many, we only received a one-off bonus from the government of € 3,000. And the new bonus promised and reported in the press has still not been granted to this day.

 

For us, the situation becomes critical because the monthly fixed costs are there:

• Rents € 12,500 / current debt € 50,000

• Electricity € 2,000 / current debt € 10,000

• Internet telephone 650 € / 0

• Belfius investment loan € 4,900 / outstanding balance € 50,000

• Social and tax debts frozen € 60,000

 

 

 

February 15, 2021, imminent closure

 

At the beginning of February, Belfius informed us that our investment loan (repaid for 7 years) will be denounced with all the inconveniences that this includes if we do not

pay € 20,000 for February 15, 2021.

 

The company having benefited in the past from a bonus following the crisis problems caused by the attacks and the lockdown, the bank specifies in its letter that Rouge Tomate does not qualify for Febelfin or for credit agreements and deferrals.

 

The PRJ has, however, been validated by the Brussels Commercial Court, without hesitation on the continuity of the company.

 

We closed our 2019 accounts “Rouge Tomate Bruxelles & Alice Cocktail Bar” with 139k profit on the balance sheet.
